Alfonso Bonilla

Serrano Gallery’s very own resident artist, Alfonso Bonilla, has been steadily gaining a reputation for his signature hyper-modern portraits of society.

Alfonso Bonilla (1968 Colombia) is a learned photographer who has spent many years researching and experimenting with graphic photography and its potential as a pictorial language. He begins his process by using graphic design to manipulate layers of images taken under a specific exposure. He then assembles and overlays the frames to reveal an altered and encompassing experience of reality in a chromatic richness.

As an artist, Alfonso Bonilla’s work resonates seamlessly with contemporary audiences hungry for images that manage to capture and celebrate the global screen in which we are living. His work is an unmistakable homage to the hyper-modern times in which we live.
