BIOGRAPHY

Ixrael Montes Born in San José de las Flores, Jamiltepec, Oaxaca, Mexico in 1971.

At the age of 19, he entered the School of Fine Arts in the city of Oaxaca and specialized in engraving and painting; later he enters the Rufino Tamayo workshop in the same city.

He has a 35-year career dedicated to art, mastering various techniques and materials with which he tries to represent in his work the essence of his roots, mestizo, indigenous and African.

From an early age, Montes demonstrated a profound fascination with the world around him, particularly the intricate patterns found in nature and the spiritual symbolism embedded within. This fascination soon evolved into a deep passion for painting as he sought to capture the ethereal beauty and profound interconnectedness of the natural world on canvas.
