Mariana Sammartino
Mariana Sammartino is a Houston-based international metalsmith artist and product designer who specializes in wearable art and unique decorative and sculptural objects. Drawing inspiration from the dialectical relationship between nature and human intervention, and working with precious and repurposed industrial materials, Sammartino blends innovative technology with creative design and impeccable execution.
Although Sammartino’s roots are in Argentina and Italy, her interest in working with metal was sparked as a student in Colorado, where she earned a degree in Industrial Design at the Colorado Institute of Art. Since then, she has trained with renowned metalsmithing and jewelry arts instructors in Argentina, Italy and the U.S. Her jewelry and metalsmithing skills were honed at the Glassell School of Art, Museum of Fine Arts Houston.
